Our story
Once upon a time. And once again.
Every story has a beginning. Ours starts in an ancient villa nestled between the Murgia and Valle d’Itria, once home to the noble Neapolitan family Caracciolo del Sole.
Passed down through generations, the estate eventually came into the hands of brothers Gaetano and Troiano Caracciolo — Duke of Venosa and Bishop of Nola — who, in 1710, chose to donate it to Don Vito Petrelli, Archpriest of Turi.
In his will, the priest entrusted the villa to the Congregazione del Santissimo Sacramento, with the wish that its revenues would support the celebration of Mass. This is how “Il Santissimo” officially came to life: as a place devoted to faith, community and hospitality.
Through the centuries and the transformations of history, the estate passed through different hands before becoming the property of Cavaliere del Lavoro Saverio De Bellis, remembered as one of the pioneers of Apulian industry.
From a place of faith
to a temple to emotions
In 2009, the Valentini family of Locorotondo acquired the estate with the desire to transform the historic Masseria into a destination devoted to hospitality, celebration and meaningful experiences. The name “Il Santissimo” was preserved as a tribute to its long legacy of faith, beauty and warm reception.
Today, Il Santissimo continues to evolve through new hospitality experiences, including a boutique hotel, an à la carte restaurant and spaces dedicated to private events and business gatherings.
Yet its spirit remains unchanged: a place deeply rooted in Puglia, where every stay, celebration and shared moment becomes part of an ever-evolving story of hospitality.
